Think I just botched any remaining chance I may have ever possibly had with this girl (which, as small a comfort as it is to admit, was probably nil to begin with) into oblivion today. Feels shitty man.
Hillbilly Casino - Violets in May (Tennessee Stomp, 2010)
Psychobilly/rockabilly is one of the main genres I know next to nothing about and really, really want to know more about. This tune is delightful.
So my usual hardcore PvP Minecraft server just got reset this evening. By pretty much sheer luck, one of our faction’s miners found one of the three end portals an hour after reset, thus completely negating our huge plan and first priority to triangulate a portal with Eye of End. So, our faction secured the portal and took to the mines. A short time later, we had about 15-20 people decked out in full diamond gear and me as a cleric (if you wear full gold armor, you can hold one of four items to give an area of effect strength, speed, or healing buff) and took to the End to claim our quick and easy way back to spawn.
This is what we found. Needless to say, we didn’t expect it.
And needless to say, we killed all four of them.

Peter Sotos - McMartin (Buyer’s Market, 1992)
I wish I could unlisten to this. Holy shit.
Since I can’t, I’m going to inflict it on anyone else stupid enough to listen to it.
Lustmord - Heresy IV (Heresy, 1990)
I’ve been playing on a Minecraft server with the Factions plug-in and a three-day death ban. This weekend some of my clanmates and I were clearing out a ravine near our fortress when we got jumped by marauders. The way factions function is that your claimed land offers protection, but if your power falls too low (a visible number based on player activity and recent death), your enemies can claim your land.
So this morning, apparently one of the few people still alive got jumped outside the base by an enemy raid force, who proceeded to then claim our land and gleefully rape and pillage the fortress (including, but not limited to: stealing all of the iron, gold, and diamond in our vault, killing all the animals in our farm, destroying our monster spawner, and stealing most of our good potions). I logged on to our base full of holes, overgrowth, and water/lava floods everywhere.
It only seems appropriate to post a bit of apocalyptic dark ambient to memorialize wandering around the Arson Faction HQ, the area that was once our home in-game, now completely abandoned by our crew in favor of a small parcel of land near our allies.
The Polyphonic Spree - Section 23 (Get Up and Go) (The Fragile Army, 2007)
This song absolutely refuses to leave my head since they played it last night. What an excellent show. Totally worth the trip to Lawrence to see them.
Plus, St. Vincent (aka Annie Clark, the former Spree guitar/weird instrument player) is playing tomorrow here in Omaha! SO EXCITED
