It’s got to be hilarious interacting with me when I’m actually happy with how things are going. I’m normally a godawful sadsack, so when things go better than I expect them to I just tend to get really giddy and have no idea how to channel ridiculous happy feelings.
I’ve posted the version of Gamera from the Japanese release of Millions Now Living May Never Die before, but this version is a United Kingdom vinyl single version, with a slightly different, longer ending.
Fang Island - Sisterly (Anamanaguchi remix) (2012)
In 2012, I found out about three days before the fact that Fang Island and Anamanaguchi were playing a show on Halloween in Kansas City. However, since everyone I know who likes Fang Island (and come the fuck on, after listening to tracks like Daisy, Treeton, Dooney Rock, or Asunder, how could you not like Fang Island?) had went down to Kansas City to see them like two months earlier, I couldn’t convince anyone to go. To this day, it is my biggest concert regret since I haven’t seen Anamanaguchi live yet.
The Pogues & The Dubliners - Whiskey in the Jar (Jack’s Heroes / Whiskey In The Jar, 1990)
My only true regret for the con was that I didn’t gather a gang of roving drunkards that I could lead with Irish folk songs. I’ve seriously been singing a mixture of this, Seven Drunken Nights, Finnegan’s Wake, The Wild Rover, I Used to Work in Dublin Town (yeah I know that’s technically not Irish, but whatever), and other odds and ends in the shower for a couple weeks and wanted to get it out of my system
Alestorm - Wenches and Mead (Captain Morgan’s Revenge, 2008)
I’m kind of bummed this album didn’t catch on with more people, it’s kind of fucking awesome. I mean, a metal band that exclusively writes songs about pirates doing pirate shit? That’s kinda fucking rad
